Our Caregiving Team

As a nonprofit community, our mission has always centered on people first. Our team is committed to leading with understanding and compassion, focusing on the individual rather than simply the challenges they may face. While each resident has unique needs, we believe that treating every woman with dignity, respect, and kindness is often the most meaningful form of care. It is this commitment to service, connection, and heartfelt support that continues to set our nonprofit community apart.

At the heart of our community is a commitment to personalized care that honors each woman’s individual preferences, routines, and needs. We believe every lady has a unique story, and taking the time to understand each chapter of her life allows us to provide care with greater compassion, dignity, and purpose. Building meaningful relationships and celebrating individuality are among the greatest rewards for what we do.

As a nonprofit assisted living community dedicated exclusively to women, we are proud to provide elegant living paired with highly personalized care. With one of the lowest resident-to-staff ratios in Central Virginia, our team is able to offer attentive support that reflects the dignity, comfort, and individuality every woman deserves.

A licensed nurse is available 24 hours a day to assist residents and respond promptly to any medical needs or emergencies. Our compassionate certified nursing aides provide thoughtful, personalized attention while creating an atmosphere that feels warm, comforting, and welcoming. Within Magnolia Hall, our specialized memory care neighborhood, enhanced staffing allows for even more individualized support and meaningful connection for each resident.

Our caregiving team works closely with physicians, geriatric specialists, therapists, podiatrists, pharmacies, and trusted healthcare partners to ensure residents receive comprehensive, coordinated care. Medical appointments, medication management, therapy services, and equipment support are carefully overseen to make daily life as seamless and comfortable as possible.

Should a resident become ill, our nursing team promptly evaluates her needs and communicates directly with physicians and family members when appropriate. Emergency services are immediately contacted whenever necessary, providing families with added peace of mind.

Petersburg Home for Ladies is guided by an all-female volunteer Board of Directors whose mission is centered on preserving the traditions, routines, and personal preferences of the women who call our community home. Their leadership reflects our longstanding nonprofit commitment to compassionate service and resident-focused care.

Every aspect of care is delivered with patience, respect, and a commitment to preserving each woman’s comfort and quality of life.
