Christmas at The Home

Christmas at The Home

A Poem By Laura Crocker, MSW
and
Linda Crocker, Board Member

(read in the style of “The Night Before Christmas”)

Twas the holiday season

And all through the Home

Many were stirring

All were a roam.

We miss all our guests

And the holiday chatter

But we understand

Covid is a serious matter.

With temperature taken

And wearing a mask

Visitors were greeted

Through plexi glass.

The ladies were snugly

Tucked in their beds

With visions of Gio

Swirling their heads.

The masks were placed

By the walkers with care

With hopes in the morning

There’d be beautiful hair.

The nurses were finished

Pushing the drugs

And housekeeping had cleaned

All of the rugs.

The kitchen had made

A feast galore

With everyone begging

For more and more.

Trees and lights

Were a vision to see

The activity ladies

Had been busy bees.

The business office

Had come to a stop

With Santa expected

They closed up shop.

Tim had checked

On everything twice

And had made a list

Of who was naughty and nice.

Finally Mrs. Kelsey

Rose from her desk

And said to one and all

We’re the Best of the Best!
